Elizabeth - Mother of John McNamee

John was Elizabeth's oldest child. At the age of 52, Elizabeth, with her 12 year old son William, arrived in New York on May 31, 1877; she arrived aboard the ship SS Victoria. On August 25, 1878, Elizabeth and her son, William were godparents for Maggie Comer's daughter, Elizabeth. Elizabeth Comer was born in Ireland on August 11, 1878. She was baptized at Our Mother of Sorrows Church in Philadelphia on August 25, 1878.

Elizabeth McNamee was godmother for John's son, Bernard who was baptized at St Agatha's Church on December 17, 1882.

At the time of the 1885 city directory, Elizabeth was living at 660 N 41st Street with her sons, Bernard and William. John was living at 611 N 41st Street. Finally, Elizabeth is remembered in the Philadelphia Public Ledger as follows:

MCNAMEE - On the 25th instant (June), Eliza, wife of the late John McNamee, of County Tyrone, Ireland. The relatives and friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend the funeral, on Saturday morning, at 8 1/2 o' clock, from her son's residence, 822 Brooklyn Street. High Mass at the Church of Our Mother of Sorrows, to proceed to Holy Cross Cemetery.
