Margaret was born in County Tyrone, Ireland, approximately 1852. She arrived in the United States in 1872. Her marriage to Patrick Comer (Comar) was performed on July 3, 1874 at St Agatha's Church, West Philadelphia. The witnesses to the ceremony were John McNamee and Rose Flanagan.
January 15, 1876, their first son, John was born. He was baptized at Our Mother of Sorrows Church, January 23, 1876. The Godparents were John Buchanan and Elizabeth McNamee. The Comers were living at 422 N. 42nd Street.
August 11, 1878, Elizabeth Comer was born. Baptism at Our Lady of Sorrows was performed on August 25, 1878. The Godparents were William McNamee and Elizabeth McNamee. Elizabeth Comer was always called Lillie. July 1, 1880 new born babe to Patrick and Margaret Comer. The baby was buried in Cathedral Cemetery, July 2, 1880.
June 1, 1881, Patrick, son of Patrick Comber and Margaret was born, and then baptized on June 12, 1881, at St Agatha's Church. The Godparents were Patrick and Mary Barron.
Burial Registry from Cavalry Cemetery, New York, indicates Edward Comer, son of Patrick and Margaret, died July 17, 1896 at the age of 12 years. He was listed as being born in New York, approximately 1884.
Birth year for Maggie, daughter of Patrick and Margaret Comer, according to the 1900 census, was 1888.
Patrick Comer Sr was buried December 8, 1887, in New York. Margaret Comer is listed as Margaret Bird, age 48, buried March 30, 1899. She remarried sometime between August 25, 1891, and March, 1899.
Shortly after her mother's death, 1899, Lillie Comer married James Kennedy. The witnesses to the marriage were John J. Delajuana and Mary McNamee. Lillie died May 19, 1900, 24 hours after delivery of her daughter, Lillian Kennedy. Lillian Kennedy, age 4 months, was the last person interred in their Calvary Cemetery plot on September 14, 1900.
October 12, 1942, John Comar, age 66 years, 8 mos and 27 days, died in St Francis Hospital. He was living in the Bronx, NY. He was buried at Calvalry Cemetery. The information was given by Mrs. Domenick Farrell, his daughter. He had been retired for 15 years as a carpenter for a Movie Studio.
Bernard was born June 19, 1860. He was Grandfather, Robert McNamee's Godfather. Bernard married Lucinda O'Hagan, February 14, 1886. His address at that time was 660 N 41st St. The Priest, Father John Fitzmaurice, at St. Agatha's previously married Margaret and John. His wife, Lucinda, was born December, 1861. The address, was noted for her as 663 N 41st St. Bernard's occupation is a car driver. Unlike his siblings, Bernard cannot be found on the 1880 census. A passenger list for June 12, 1883, the Ship Circassia, noted a passenger, Bernard McNamee.
Life was too short for Bernard. He died on April 22, 1895, only 34 years old. Laid to rest before him was his daughter, Nellie(age 2), on June 25, 1891, and daughter, Lucy, (7 months), on January 6, 1894. At that time, Bernard was survived by his children, Elizabeth, born December 1886, Gertrude, born October 1891, and John born April 1895.
William was born August 1, 1862. He resided with his mother, Elizabeth, at the home of Patrick Comer, Margaret's family on the 1880 census. He was fourteen years old when he arrived in America with his mother in 1877. William married Margaret (Maggie) Anderson, August 23, 1886 at St James Church. Father P.J. Garvey, the Pastor, officiated. William's residence was 4083 Warren St. Maggie was living at 4087 Warren Street. His life ended earlier than Bernard, (a little more than one month), at the age of 30 years, 8 months. A Solemn Requiem Mass was held at St Agatha Church, March 16, 1895. Margaret, his daughter, was buried March 20, 1896, age 1 year, 10 months. The McNamee's were buried in Holy Cross Cemetery.
William's widow, Maggie married Frank McCullough on April 8, 1896. Frank had been married before. Frank died in 1898, they had one daughter, Hattie.
On the 1900 census, Margaret McCullough is living at 4071 Haverford Avenue. Her daughters, Jennie Orr(age 19), Bessie McNamee(age 12), Mary McNamee(age 10), son Eddie McNamee(age 8), and daughter Hattie McCullough(age 3). Margaret was operating a Boarding Home at that time.
On the 1910 census, Margaret has married a Boarder, John Watson, about 1901. Their address is 4104 Warren St. Edward McNamee is 18, Mary is 20 and Hattie has become Catherine McNamee, age 13.
